Eating With Carmen Food Tours was born in Playa del Carmen in 2017 with one mission: to connect travelers to culture through food. Since then, we’ve hosted over 30,000 guests and become Mexico’s top food tour company.

“Carmen” isn’t just a name — she’s our spirit. Think of her as your foodie best friend: curious, warm, and always in search of authentic flavors beyond the tourist trail.

Now, we’re bringing that same passion to Chile. From Santiago’s bustling markets to the coastal kitchens of Valparaíso, our tours highlight real people, real flavors, and real memories you’ll carry long after your trip.

Food has always been my passion and I want to share that passion with people from all over the world. Mexican food is full of history and it is a real treasure. I'm very happy to be able to show you its unique flavors, going from street stations to gourmet restaurants while walking through the streets of Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and Mérida.

Eating With Carmen Food Tours was born as an alternative to what most usually see in Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and Mérida. Our idea is to be able to take our visitors to enjoy the flavors, smells and colors of Mexican food, generally away from the major tourist spots of the city and also be able to support local and small businesses in Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and Mérida with our presence.

In Eating With Carmen Food Tours we take care of giving you a tour of the city and introducing yourself into the gastronomic world of Mexico from a global and authentic point of view so that you can experience Mexican food as a whole, together with local people. My love and passion for the Hospitality Industry has guided me to work at Seafood Restaurants, Whisky Bars, and even holes in the wall, all the way to Playa del Carmen’s most famous beach clubs, bars and food tours. I am a strong believer that Tacos, Mexican food and Rock n’ Roll are the way to happiness.

From a very young age, I discovered that food was my passport to discovering the world. On every corner, in every market and local kitchen, I found much more than flavors: I found stories, faces, traditions. My quest was not only gastronomic, but also cultural and human. Through traditional dishes, I connected with the essence of each place, its people, and its soul. Today, I continue to travel with an open heart and a curious palate, celebrating the diversity that unites us at the table.

Today in Chile, I want to invite travelers, just as I have done, to experience Chilean culture through its typical dishes. I invite you to meet my people, to share their warmth and their history. As an old Chilean song says: “And you will see how Chileans love a friend when he is a stranger”, because here, the table is always ready to share.
